Toora Women Inc.
What they do
Toora is the ACT's largest specialist domestic and family violence and homelessness service for women and children, providing crisis accommodation, case management, and counselling since 1982.
How we help
1. Grocery and fuel vouchers for women and children in crisis.
2. New toys and bedding.
Women's Empowerment Project
What it is
A paid, five-day work experience placement as a salon assistant, supporting women from family violence refuges and transitional housing to build skills, confidence, and independence.

What Bond Hair Religion does
Bond Hair Religion is an award-winning hair salon in Kingston, ACT, owned and led by Jenni Tarrant OAM as Creative Director. Jenni is also the Founder and Chair of The Tarrant Foundation. Bond is a values-led salon committed to helping vulnerable people in the community for over 20 years.
How we help
The Tarrant Foundation facilitates this partnership with Bond — connecting participants to the opportunity. Bond funds and delivers the placement in full, at no cost to the Foundation.
How to be a part of it
1. Register via a support worker or case worker to receive more information
2. Attend a friendly interview at Bond
3. Complete standard employment paperwork
4. Enjoy your five-day supported placement
5. Receive a reference for future employment
No prior experience necessary — just a willingness to give it a go.
As with any workplace, it's important to ensure a good fit. Bond Hair Religion may decide not to proceed with applicants if the role or team environment isn't the right match. Likewise, if any serious issues arise during the placement, the experience may be concluded early.
The Pillar Code
What they do
The Pillar Code is a 12-step, trauma-informed program helping adults move through stress, overwhelm, and feeling stuck — toward genuine healing, growth, and lasting change. The Kids Code offers the same depth of care for children, helping them overcome fear, build resilience, and restore their self-worth.
How we help
1. Sponsored 17 adults into The Pillar Code program.
2. Funded the participation of 11 children in The Kids Code program.
